CT/Cone Beam scans are used on a daily basis by Dr. Bishop to plan treatments. Unlike traditional x-rays that are used to capture images of the underlying structures of specific teeth or parts of the bite, CT scans capture higher quality images of how the bite works together. In addition to these complete, 360 degree images of the underlying dental structures, Cone Beam scans offer more complete images of the interior parts of teeth and surrounding areas. This makes endodontic treatment planning more precise and accurate. CT scans are fast and completely comfortable to capture. The patient simply stands in front of the scanner and it moves around their head capturing a series of images that provide a digital tomographic 3D view of the patient’s area of interest.

Dr. Bishop uses a surgical operating microscope on a daily basis to ensure precise, comfortable endodontic treatments. The microscope allows Dr. Bishop to see the inner workings of teeth to ensure she removes all damaged tissues, and allows for complete restoration. Microscopes can be adjusted throughout treatment and are self-lighted, so the doctor has a clear view of all aspects of the tooth being treated throughout even the most complex endodontic procedures.  In addition, our microscopes are equipped with high resolution digital photography allowing Dr. Bishop to enhance patient communication and document treatment.

GentleWave

Instead of using traditional methods for performing root canal treatment, Dr. Bishop uses GentleWave, which is an alternative therapy that cleans deep into the root canal anatomy, even in microscopic places that are otherwise difficult to access or even notice. This technology gently disinfects and removes the necessary debris and infected tissue without sacrificing significant tooth structure, allowing patients to heal faster and avoid failure down the road.
